How Much Does PPF Cost in the Conejo Valley?
Paint protection film pricing comes down to coverage and vehicle class. At our Agoura Hills shop, a hood-only panel is $800, a full front end starts at $1,995, and full-body coverage runs from $5,600 for a coupe to $7,900 for an exotic — $6,100 to $8,400 if you want the satin stealth finish instead of gloss. Stealth full front starts at $2,495. Those are real installed prices, not "starting at" teaser numbers designed to get you in the door. Send us your year, make, and model and we quote the exact coverage for your car — no invented numbers, no upsell ladder, just the class your vehicle falls in.
Why Does PPF Cost More Than a Vinyl Wrap?
This is the first question most customers ask, and the answer is simple: the film itself costs roughly twice as much as wrap vinyl, and the install is more demanding panel by panel. PPF is thicker, optically clear (or perfectly satin in stealth), and every edge has to disappear against the paint — there is nowhere to hide a shortcut the way a color change can forgive one. That is why the PPF ladder sits above the wrap ladder class for class.
What you are buying is preserved factory paint and avoided repaint work on the panels the road hits hardest. The 101 through Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks is brutal on front ends — gravel, grit, and construction debris sandblast hoods and bumpers year-round. One front end wrapped in PPF eats all of that and peels off years later to reveal the original paint. If you want the full film-vs-vinyl breakdown, read Wrap vs PPF: Which Is Right for You?.
How Much Does a Full Front of PPF Cost?
Full front coverage at Vaderwerks starts at $1,995 in gloss — that covers the full front bumper, the full hood, both front fenders, and the mirrors, which is where nearly all stone strikes and grit blast land on freeway-driven cars. A stealth full front starts at $2,495 and gives the same coverage in the satin finish. If you only need one exposed panel addressed, a hood-only install is $800.
A front end is also the fastest job in the shop: 2 to 3 days in and out. It is the highest-value PPF package we sell, because the front third of the car takes 90% of the abuse and costs a fraction of full-body coverage. For Teslas and other heavy 101 commuters, it is usually the right first call — we dig into the Tesla specifics in PPF for Teslas in Calabasas & Agoura Hills.
How Much Does Full-Body PPF Cost?
Full-body PPF films every painted panel, and it is the choice for expensive paint, dark colors that show every mark, heavy freeway commuting, or a car you plan to keep for years. The install runs about 5 days. Gloss pricing by class:
- Coupe — $5,600
- Sedan — $5,900
- SUV — $6,400
- Van — $6,900
- Truck — starting at $7,400
- Exotic — $7,900
Prefer the satin look? Stealth full-body is its own standalone price, not an upcharge pitch: Coupe $6,100, Sedan $6,400, SUV $6,900, Van $7,400, Truck starting at $7,900, Exotic $8,400. Same film technology, same protection, same 5-day install — the finish is a style choice, full stop.
Does PPF Cost More for a Tesla?
No — Teslas price by vehicle class like everything else. A Model 3 lands in the sedan class, a Model Y in the SUV class, and so on. What actually moves a Tesla quote is not the badge, it is the paint: Teslas are known for soft, thin factory paint that chips fast, which is exactly why so many of our PPF jobs are Teslas in the first place. The film is doing more work on a Tesla than on a car with harder paint, not costing more to install.
If you are shopping a Tesla wrap instead, we price those by model — Model 3 from $3,400, Model Y from $4,000, Model S from $4,200, Model X from $4,800, Cybertruck from $3,900. Tell us the year and model and we give you both numbers so you can compare film vs. color change apples to apples.
What Makes a PPF Quote Go Up or Down?
Three things, in order:
- 1. Coverage. Hood-only ($800) vs. full front (from $1,995) vs. full body (from $5,600). This is the biggest lever by far.
- 2. Finish. Stealth full body runs $500 over the gloss class price — quoted to you as one standalone number, never as a tacked-on extra.
- 3. Vehicle class. Bigger vehicles need more film and more labor hours. Trucks start at $7,400 for full body because there is simply more truck.
What does not move the quote: the color of your car, and whether it is a Tesla or a Toyota. Paint condition matters at install time — we inspect before every job, because PPF goes on clean, corrected paint — but it does not change the class price. If your paint needs correction work first, we tell you upfront with photos before you spend a dollar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will PPF turn yellow over time?
Modern top-grade films are engineered against yellowing, and the Conejo Valley sun is exactly why we install them — UV is what kills unprotected clear coat out here. Cheap or old-generation film can yellow and haze, which is why film quality matters as much as the install. We only install film we would put on our own cars.
Can PPF be removed without damaging paint?
Yes — on healthy paint, PPF peels off with heat and adhesive cleanup, the same as a wrap. It only pulls paint that was already failing: peeling clear coat or a bad respray. We covered the whole question for wraps in Does Wrapping a Car Damage Paint? and the same rules apply to PPF.
Does PPF need ceramic coating on top?
Not required — PPF works fine bare. Ceramic adds slickness, easier washing, and extra chemical resistance, and plenty of our customers add it. We offer ceramic coating at $800, or $600 when it is added to a fresh wrap job. The deep dive is in Ceramic Coating for PPF.
How do I wash a car with PPF?
Like a wrapped car, with a little extra care around film edges: two-bucket hand wash, no harsh chemicals, dry it fully so minerals do not spot the film. Full routine in How to Wash PPF So It Stays Clear.
Is PPF worth it compared to just repainting later?
Repainting a front end after years of freeway driving means color-matching, blending, and days without your car — and then the fresh paint starts taking hits again on day one. PPF is one install that takes the hits instead and comes off to reveal the factory paint you started with. For new cars, leased cars, and anything with expensive factory paint, the math favors the film.
